Delicate Dahlias Christmas with Soft Pastels

Welcome to my blog today!  I am continuing my Delicate Dahlias and Soft Pastels series.  If you missed the last card check out the list on the right for the other one.

For this card I used what I call a wet application!  I brought in a Christmas Set to help make the magic happen.  The Christmas to Remember stamp set.  

So here we go!  Below is a list of card cuts, instructions, supplies used and a link to the video I did showing how to use the Soft Pastels.

Card cuts:

Card base - Cherry Cobbler - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4

Layer 1 - Basic White - 4 x 5 1/4

Layer 2 - Cherry Cobbler - 1 x 3 1/2

Layer 3 - Basic White - 4 x 5 1/4

Instructions:

1. Layer 1 - Using Black Memento Ink and using the Large Detailed Dahlia stamp:

  • Stamp three Dahlia's as shown stamping 2 of them partial off the sheet.

  • Next stamp the leaves as shown.
  • Now using a Wink of Stella rub onto the Poppy Parade Soft pastel chalk and pick up the color then color in the flowers. 
  • Next using a Wink of Stella rub onto the Mossy Meadow Soft pastel chalk and pick up the color and color in the leaves.
2. Using the Cherry Cobbler Stampin Blend color in the ribbon then wrap around the sheet.
  • Adhere to the card front.
3.  Layer 2 - Using Versa Mark ink stamp the sentiment
  • Cover with White Embossing Powder
  • Shake off excess
  • Heat up with Heat Tool
  • Fussy cut around the sentiment
  • Adhere to the ribbon on the card front using Liquid Glue
4. Layer 3 - In the bottom right hand corner stamp and color the flower as shown using the same technique as in step 1.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Black Memento ink
  • Adhere to the inside of the card
5.  Apply the Pearl Basic Jewels as shown.
