Tulip Fields Catalog Case Window Scene

So glad your taking time to check out my blog today!  In the card making world we sometimes hear the word "case".  What does that mean?  Case or Casing is when you see a card and copy it, most times you will change it up a little as in changing colors used, stamp sets used, die cuts used or using different Designer Series Paper.  When I case a card I always try to acknowledge the person that I got the idea from.  Just a good practice.  So with that said, for this card I actually cased the card in the Stampin Up® mini catalog.  So many of us keep our old catalogs because it give us a good base line for layout for cards.

I had a team challenge to case a card from the catalog and this was my card.  It was a fun team challenge and great to see how each of us took the original layout and changed it up to fit either what we had in stock or simply just changing up colors!  This card was on the cover of the Jan-June 2022 Mini Catalog and I changed up the Designer Series Paper, colors, and the scene itself.

Here are the card cuts, instructions and supply list:

Card Cuts: DSP= Designer Series Paper

Card Base - Rich Razzleberry = 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
- Blackberry Bliss = 4 x 5 1/2; 1/2 x 5 1/2
-Rich Razzleberry = 2 x 3
-So Saffron = 1 x 5 1/4; 2 x 2;1/2 x 5 1/2
-Basic White = 2 x 2; 4 x 5 1/4

DSP - Flowering Fields = 1 3/4 x 5 1/4; (2)4 x 5 1/4

Instructions:

Stamping:

1.  Using Pool Party ink stamp three of the clouds onto the 2 x 2 Basic White piece. Set Aside.

2.  Using the Special Moments stamp set stamp the following:

A.  Onto the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White piece stamp the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry ink.

B.  Wipe Embossing Buddy across the 1 x 5 1/4 So Saffron piece then using Versamark ink stamp the sentiment about 1/2" from left side.  Cover with White Embossing powder, shake off excess powder then heat up with heat tool.

Die Cutting:

3.  Using the Windmill Fields Dies cut the following:

A.  Apply Adhesive sheets to the back of the 1/2 x 5 1/2 Blackberry bliss piece then cut out several fence pieces.

B.  Apply Adhesive sheets to the back of the 2 x 2 So Saffron piece then cut out the bicycle.

C.  From the 2 x 3 Rich Razzleberry piece cut out the detailed Windmill.

D.  From the 4 x 5 1/2 piece cut out both the Sold windmill and the Windmill blades.

E.  Cut out the clouds that you stamped in step #1.

F.  From the 1 x 5 1/4 So Saffron piece cut out the border tulip die.

4.  Using the #5 Stitched Rectangle dies (or 4th from the largest) cut out a window from the 4 x 5 1/4 DSP piece.  NOTE: You want to place the die about 1/2" from top edge and 3/4" from right edge.

Assemble:

5.   Adhere the 1 3/4 x 5 1/4 (Tulips) DSP to the bottom edge of the DSP sheet that has the look of sky.

6.  Remove the adhesive strip from the back of the bicycle then adhere the Die cut Bicycle flush to the top edge of the Tulip DSP about 7/8" from left side.

7.  Remove the adhesive strip from the back of the fences then adhere them flush to the Tulip DSP overlapping the Bike but leaving an opening as shown.

8.  Adhere the clouds as desired.

9. Using Dimensionals adhere the DSP window piece over the scene piece.

10.  Adhere both to the card front.

11. Adhere the detailed windmill to the solid windmill.

12.  Using a push pin and cork board, make hole in the top of the windmill where the small circle is.  Then attach windmill blades with small white brad. (Note: do not tighten down all the way - you want the blades to move)

13.  Adhere the sentiment strip across the bottom of the window about 1/8" from bottom edge of DSP.

14.  Adhere windmill as shown.

15.  Adhere the So Saffron Tulip border to the bottom of the stamped 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White piece.

16.  Then adhere to the inside of the card.

There you go a new look to a cased card!  Hope you will try out this casing idea and see how you can change up a layout!

Flowering Tulips Matted splendor!

So glad you decided to visit my blog today! This card is showcasing the Flowering Tulips bundle in the Jan-June 2022 Mini Catalog.  Luckily this stamp set and the coordinating dies is carrying over to the new annual catalog!  I have designed several cards with this set you may want to check out all the others ones in this blog!

This card is designed by simple stamping, die cutting and matting.  It look complicated but is pretty easy!  So lets get started, below you will find the card cuts, instructions and supply list!

Card Cuts:

Card Base - Evening Evergreen - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4

Card Stock - Basic White = (2) 4 x 5 1/4
- Evening Evergreen = 3 1/4 x 4 5/8; 2 3/8 x 3 3/4; 1 5/8 x 3; 1 x 3

Instructions:

Stamping:

1.  Using the following inks stamp the following flower and leave onto one of the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White piece leaving a 1" space on the left side and about 1/2" from bottom edge.

A.  Leaves and stems in Evening Evergreen.

B.  Medium Tulip in Poppy Parade.

C.  Small Tulip in Highland Heather.

D.  Large Tulip in So Saffron and Mango Melody.

2.  On the other 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White piece stamp the following:

A. Large Tulip in So Saffron and Mango Melody in the bottom right hand corner.

B.  Stamp sentiment from Special Moments stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink.

3.  Wipe the 1 x 3 Evening Evergreen strip with an Embossing Buddy then stamp the sentiment from the Flowering Tulips Stamp set,  using Versa Mark ink, cover with White embossing powder, shake off excess powder then heat up with heat tool.

Die Cutting: (Note: I number my Stitched Rectangle dies to make it easier to remember which ones I use - There are two sets of dies on the largest set I start with the smallest one and number it #1 working my way up to the largest which would be #8.  On the other set I do the same smallest being #1 and the largest being #4.) So in these instructions I will be using those numbers!

4.  Using the #6 from the larger set and the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White piece you just stamped with flowers and leaves center over the flowers and leaves and cut out.

5.  From that piece using the #4 die center again and cut out a piece from the last one.

6.  Next using piece from step 5 cut out one more rectangle stitched die using the #2

7.  Using the #2 die from the smaller set cut out the Evening Evergreen sentiment label from step 3.

Assemble:

Gather all the Evening Evergreen mattes and the all the pieces of the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White piece that you cut with the Rectangle stitched dies.

8.  Layer the following:

A.  3 1/4 x 4 1/4 Evening Evergreen piece onto the large Basic White frame about a 1/2" from left edge.

B.  Next Layer the largest Basic White piece with stamped flower and leaves onto last piece centering

C.  Next Layer the 2 3/8 x 3 3/4 Evening Evergreen onto the piece from Step B also centering.

D.  Next Layer the next size down Basic White piece onto piece from Step C, centering.

E.  Next Layer the 1 5/8 x 3 Evening Evergreen onto piece from Step D.

F.  Next Layer the last Basic White piece onto piece from Step E.

G.  Last layer the Evening Evergreen sentiment strip across the other layers as shown.

F.  Wrap ribbon around left edge and add a bow.

9.  Adhere to card front.

10.  Apply butterflies as desired.

11.  Adhere other 4 x 5 1/4 piece to the inside of the card.

All Done!  I hope you will try out this card!  It can look complicated but it goes together really easy.
