Hand-Drawn Blooms Simple Stamping "Friendship"

This is the second card in my series of Simple Stamping using the Hand-Drawn Blooms stamp set.  Just add a little Designer Series paper and you have a quick and beautiful card.  This card is perfect for all those scraps of paper that we tend to hold on to.  For this card I used some scraps of the Artistry Bloom Designer Series paper for the front and inside of the card.  Great way to get rid of all those scraps!

This card also requires the Masking technique as the sentiment stamps in this set are set up to be stamped on the banner that cut out with the dies.  So I just cover the part I don't want to use with a post it note ink it up, take off the post it note and stamp the sentiment.

PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS:

Cuts and Card Base:  DSP = Designer Series Paper

Card Base = Highland Heather - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4

Layer 1 - Whisper White - 4 x 5 1/4
Layer 2 - Artistry Blooms DSP - 3/4 x 5 1/4
Layer 3 - Whisper White - 4 x 5 1/4
Layer 4 - Artistry Blooms DSP - 1/2 x 4

1.  Layer 1 - Using Highland Heather ink stamp the Flower on the right side of this layer.  Then mask off  "A Friend Like You" with a post it note ink it up then stamp "So Grateful To Have" as shown.

2.  Layer 2 - Adhere to the left side of Layer 1 then adhere them both to the card front.

3.  Layer 3 - Mask off the sentiment again but this time you want to ink up "A Friend Like You" so cover the other part with a post it note, ink it up then stamp it in the center of Layer 3.

Adhere to the inside of the card.

4.  Layer 4 - Adhere to the bottom edge of Layer 3.

See four steps and you are done!  Not bad for a quick and easy card!  The finished card is pretty cute!

Hand-Drawn Blooms & Wildly Happy "Baby Shower"

I've had a lot of requests for Baby shower cards so I decided to combined the Hand-Drawn Blooms stamp set, the Wildly Happy stamp set and the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper.  I came up with two versions for a Baby Shower card.  One is a lot more colorful than the other but I was happy with both of them.  Both of these cards would be considered simple stamping cards which makes them quick and easy to make.

PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut and Card base.  DSP = Designer Series Paper
Version 1 - Card Base - Magenta Madness - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Layer 1 - Artistry Blooms DSP - 4 x 5 1/4
Layer 2 - Whisper White - 3 1/8 x 4 3/8
Layer 3 - Whisper White - 4 x 5 1/4

Version 2 - Card Base - Blushing Bride - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Layer 1 - Whisper White - 4 x 5 1/4
Layer 2 - Whisper White - 4 x 5 1/4

Version 1 - Instructions

Layer 1 - Adhere to card front.

Layer 2 - Stamp the flower in Magenta Madness ink as shown.  (Note: make sure to leave room for the rabbit and sentiment).

Next stamp the Rabbits from the Wildly Happy stamps set as shown in Magenta Madness ink.

Mask off the words "On Your Special Day" with a post it note.  Ink up the words "Congratulations" then Stamp the sentiment as shown in Magenta Madness ink.

Layer 3 - Stamp the rabbits in the lower right hand corner in Magenta Madness ink, then stamp the sentiment also in Magenta Madness ink.

Version 2 - Instructions

Follow direction as directed above For Layer 2 and 3 except use Blushing Bride ink.

I hope you enjoy making these cards.

Life is Beautiful - Layers and more Layers!

I had so much fun creating this card!  I had an idea but was having some problems getting it worked out so I looked at a few sketches and BOOM, it all came together.  For this card I am featuring the Life is Beautiful stamp set and the Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper.  I also used several items from the Gilded Autumn Suite all by Stampin Up®.

PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS:

Cuts and Card Base - DSP = Designer Series Paper.
Card Base - Mint Macaron - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
Layer 1 - Cajun Craze - 4 x 5 1/4
Layer 2 - Gilded Autumn DSP (5) different patterns 3/4 x 3 1/2
Layer 3 - Very Vanilla 4 1/2 x 5 1/2
Layer 4 - Very Vanilla 3/4 x 5 1/2
Layer 5 - Cajun Craze - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Layer 6 - Very Vanilla - 4 x 5 1/4

1.  Layer 1 - Using a ruler, turn to portrait view and draw a line with a pencil about 1/4" from the left edge.  Then turn to horizontal view and draw a line 1/4" from the left and right edges.

2.  Layer 2 - Using Multipurpose Liquid glue place your first strip onto Layer 1 lining up with the bottom and left pencil lines.  Then place your second strip on the right side lining up with the lines on the right and bottom edges. This will allow you to play with the center pieces.  I set them all in place then one by one adhered them in place. Once they are all adhered in place, erase the pencil lines.

3. Adhere Layer 1 to the card front.

4.  Next you will add the Metallic Ribbon from the "Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack" to Layer 2.  Because this ribbon is very thin I fold my Mini glue dots in half.  Make sure to place the Mini glue dots strategically so that the tree and sentiment strip will cover them from view.  I started in the top right corner then weaved it back and forth from top right corner to the bottom left corner using the Mini glue dots to secure it down.

5.  Layer 3 - Turn to horizontal view then stamp the tree in Crumb Cake.  Note:  you will be cutting of part of the bottom so it's important that you get as much of the top of the tree on the sheet as you can.

6.  Then using Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie inks stamp several leaves onto the tree.

7.  Fussy cut out the tree.

8.  Measure Tree to Layer 1 and trim bottom so that the tree will fit onto Layer 1.

9.  Using Stampin Dimensionals adhere the tree to the card front.

10.  Layer 4 - Stamp sentiment on the left side in Cajun Craze ink.  I used the Stamparatus to make sure I got the sentiment placed where I wanted it.

11.  Using a sponge dauber and Cajun Craze ink chalk around the edges of this strip.  Then using Stampin Dimensionals adhere to the card front about 1/2" from bottom edge of Layer 1.

12.  Combining the 1 Metallic ribbon and 2 of the Linen Threads tie a bow.  Note: before you tie the knot add the Acorn Trinket to one of the Linen Threads and then tie your bow.

13.  Adhere to the right side of the sentiment label.  I placed a glue dot then added Liquid glue to each side of the dot.  This will help with the weight of the trinket.

14.  Adhere Layer 5 into the inside of the card.

15.  Layer 6 - Stamp the sentiment from "Beautiful Autumn Bundle" stamp set, in Cajun Craze ink onto the center of this sheet.

16.  In the lower right hand corner stamp the leaves in both Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie then adhere to inside of the card.

As you can see this card has a bunch of layers, I hope you will try layering on your next card!

Life is Beautiful "Layered Embossing Technique"

For this card I was trying to match the Gilded Autumn Designer Series paper by Stampin Up® and emboss with both Gold and Copper embossing powder.  Note: The Life is Beautiful stamp set by Stampin Up® is a distinktive stamp so the final finish will have texture.  I added sentiments from the "Here's a Card stamp set by Stampin Up® and the Stitched Shapes Dies by Stampin Up® to help finish of this card.  I was very pleased with the final product.  It's not a pretty in the picture as it is in person.  I hope you will give it a try!

Project Recipe:

  1. Cuts and Card Base - DSP = Designer Series Paper
    Card Base - Thick Very Vanilla - 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/4
    Layer 1 - Gilded Autumn DSP - 4 x 5 1/4
    Layer 2 - Very Vanilla - 3 1/2 x 4 3/4
    Layer 3 - Very Vanilla - 2 1/4 x 3
  2. Layer 1 - Adhere to the card front.
  3. Layer 2 - Using Versa mark ink, Stamp the tree and leaves.
  4. Make sure to stamp the tree as close to the bottom edge as possible.
  5. Cover with Copper embossing powder then heat up.
  6. Stamp the leaves in versa mark again over the copper leaves.
  7. Cover with Gold Embossing powder then heat up.
  8. Note: Because this is a distinktive stamp set the finished embossing will have texture.
  9. Wrap ribbon around the sheet about 1 1/2" from bottom edge.
  10. Layer 3 - Stamp the sentiment from the "Here's a Card" stamp set in versa mark ink.
  11. Cover with Copper embossing powder then heat up.
  12. Cut out with a circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
  13. Using stampin dimensionals adhere straddling the ribbon.
  14. Adhere both layers 2 & 3 using stampin dimensionals to the card front.
15.  On the inside of the card stamp sentiment from "Here's a Card" stamp set in versa mark ink.

16.  Cover with Copper Embossing powder then heat up!

Check out this video for step by step instructions for this card and 2 others that I did featuring the Life is Beautiful stamp set.
