Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop May 2022 Boughs & Blossoms Pocket Card!

Thanks for joining in our training Blog Hop!  You are in for a treat.  You will be able to hop along with Stampin Up® demonstrators from around the world and see some wonderful cards.  Now we all do "Thank you" themed cards because we all feel like there are so many people in our lives that we can show our gratitude towards!

For this card I used the Boughs & Blossoms bundle and brought in some friends to help give this card a little extra pop!

I am often inspired by other demonstrators with either layouts or color combinations and I know I was inspired by several cards I viewed from fellow demonstrators.  I just took all the parts and pieces from them and combined them to make this card!

Below you will find the card cuts, instructions, supply list and link to a video I did for this card.

Now if you have never done a Blog Hop all you have to do is click on the name right after mine and you will be transported to the next demonstrators blog!  Please note that I have positioned the video link and supply list after the Blog Hop list so once you are done hopping check back here and scroll on down for those links!  Enjoy!

Card Cuts: Card Base: Highland Heather - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Card Stock- Basic White: (4) 4 x 5 1/4; 4 x 3 1/4 (cut @ angle) and 1 1/4 x 3
-Highland Heather - 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 (cut @ angle)
Specialty Paper - 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum
-Evening Evergreen - 2 x 4
-Fresh Freesia - 2 x 3

Instructions:

1. Cut the 4 x 3 1/4 Basic White piece at an angle.
2. Run  both this piece and one of the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White pieces through the Gingham Embossing Folder. Set aside.
3. On one of the other 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White pieces stamp one of the flower images in the lower right hand corner in Gorgeous Grape as shown in picture above for the inside of the card.
4. On the other two 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White pieces stamp the following: (Note: make sure to leave enough room to either fussy cut out or use the Bough Punch)

*Using Gorgeous Grape ink stamp the more detailed flower and one of the small three flowered image.

*Using Highland Heather ink stamp the 2 of the flower image with the dots in the center.

*Using Fresh Freesia ink stamp (2) of the small three flowered image.

*Using Evening Evergreen ink stamp (2) of the small leaf with two leaves on it.

*Using Soft Succulent ink stamp (2) of the larger leaf with 6 leaves on it.

*Using Mint Macaron ink stamp (4) of the fern looking leaves.

5. Next fussy cut all the items you just stamped. Set Aside.

6. Cut the 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 Highland Heather piece at an angle.  Then adhere the angled Basic White embossed piece to this piece. Set Aside.

7. Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 embossed Basic White piece to the card front.

8. Adhere the angled piece to the piece from step 7 placing tear and tape along the left edge and bottom edge only. (Note: You don't want any tape where the pocket will be so that you can build your flower arrangement) Place piece in the lower left corner.

9. Using the Bough Punch punch out three of the leaves from the Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum and 2 of the flowers from the Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum. Set aside.

10. Next you will add the ribbon to the front of the angled pocket using Mini glue dots.

*You will need to start off the left edge and lay it at an angle toward the bottom.

* Then you will fold ribbon towards the center to form the loops on each end.

*Note: you do not need a ton of glue dots as you will be added flowers on top of this to help hold it in place.

11. Flower arrangement:  I will list the order that I added items to the arrangement but use you creativity and build your own if you want to:

* Add Mini Dimensionals to the back of the Gorgeous Grape flower (make sure to keep them in the center so that you will be able to fit other pieces behind it)  and apply it to the center of the ribbon but not all the way on the ribbon you want it to be more towards the bottom left corner.

*Next using Liquid glue I placed the Highland Heather flowers behind the Gorgeous Grape flower on top of the ribbon. (Note: I did use a bone folder to curve up some of the leaves)

*Next you will bring in the Evening Evergreen leaves and place them behind the Gorgeous Grape flower one on the left side one on the right side. (again use your bone folder to fold up the leaves)

*So now we will build the arrangement pieces that go down into the pocket. First using Liquid glue I place two Mint Macaron fern images, then I added the Soft Succulent leaves and two of the Evening Evergreen Shimmer leaves. (See photo for placements).

*Once you've built up into the pocket then add the two of the ferns behind the pieces on the front of the pocket along with the small three flowers images and the Fresh Freesia Shimmer piece. (Again see photo above for placements)

12. Next stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink onto the 1 1/4 x 3 piece.  Then cut it out using the one of the label dies from the Tasteful Label Die set. (Note: if you don't have this set then pick a label die that you have.

*Using Dimensionals adhere to the card front in the upper right section as shown.

13. Add three pastel pearls to the card front as desired.

14. Last adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic white piece that you stamped the flower on earlier to the inside of the card. (Note: I usually do not stamp a sentiment on the inside of my Thank you cards as I like to write my own note of thanks)

You are all done!  Now it's time to do some hopping.  Don't forget once your done hopping to pop back by and scroll down to see the supply list and link to my video!

Crane of Fortune "Lifetime of Happiness"

Thanks for stopping by today!  I don't know about you but it seems like every time I get an invitation for a wedding I don't have a wedding card on hand.  It's just not cards that I think to make very often.  So when I saw the Symbols of Fortune Suite it immediately made me think of weddings.

This card definitely has some layering and it looks harder than it is to put it all together.  You'll be surprised how easy it is once you get all the elements stamped and die cut.

Before I get to the card cuts and instructions I want to remind you to sign up for my newsletter so that you can be updated on my new designs and all the Stampin Up® news!

Card cuts: DSP = Designer Series Paper

Card Base - Basic Gray: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Layer 1 - Symbols of Fortune DSP - 4 x 5 1/5

Layer 2 - Soft Succulent - 4 x 3 3/4

Layer 3 - Basic Gray - 2 3/4 x 4 1/4

Layer 4 - Symbols of Fortune DSP - 2 5/8 x 4 1/8

Layer 5 - Basic White - (2) 4 x 5 1/4

Layer 6 - Basic White - 2 x 3 1/4 (Dragonflies)

Layer 7 - Gold Foil - 1 1/2 x 2 1/4

Layer 8 - Basic Gray - 1/4 x 3 5/8

Instructions:

1. Adhere Layer 1 to the card front.

2. Using the Good Fortunes Dies and Layer 2 - Cut out one of the Detailed Large flowers & two leaves.
*Cut the large flower in half and place one side on the card front about 1 3/8" from top edge of Layer 1 and flush to the right edge.

*Place the other piece directly across and flush to the left edge.

3. Adhere Layer 4 to Layer 3.  Then adhere both to the card front about 1/2" from the left edge of Layer 1 and 1/4" down from the top edge.

4. On one of the the Layer 5 pieces stamp the following:

*Crane in Smokey Slate Ink then color in with Wink of Stella

*Flower in Calypso Coral ink

*Three leaves in Soft Succulent ink stamping one off for a lighter look on one of the leaves.

5. On the Layer 6 piece stamp the following:

*Two Dragon flies images in Smokey Slate ink.

6. Using the Good Fortune Dies cut out all the images you just stamped on Layers 5 and 6.

*Also cut out 2 of the small flowers from Layer 7 the Gold Foil.

7. On Layer 8 mask off the part of the sentiment that you are not using then stamp onto this layer.  cover with White embossing powder and heat up with the heat tool.

*Cut a banner on each end.

8. On the other Layer 5 stamp the following:

*In the bottom right hand corner stamp the flower in Calypso Coral ink.

*Stamp the sentiment in Soft Succulent ink

*Stamp Dragonflies in Smokey Slate ink in the upper right corner.

9. Assemble:

*Using Stampin Dimensionals adhere the Flower and Crane. (Note: place dimensionals so that you will be able to add some of the leaves and gold flowers behind them and when you overlap the Crane onto the flower make sure to only use dimensionals on the part of the Crane that is not touching the flower.)

*Add Gold Foil flowers and Soft Succulent and stamped leaves behind the Flower and Crane as shown.

*Adhere the banner sentiment across both the Flower and Crane as shown.

*Pop up Dragon flies as shown. (Note: I only used three of them)

*Adhere the stamped Layer 5 onto the inside of the card.

All done!  See not so bad and you have a beautiful card ready for the next wedding you are invited to!

I'd love to hear from you so please leave me a comment below!

Hues of Happiness Accordion Fun Fold

So glad you stopped by my blog today!  I got a great opportunity to be involved with an online retreat hosted by Bruno and Kylie Bertucci and Lisa Curcio and her Daughter Gina.  I learned how to do this fun fold and wanted to use the fun fold design to create my own card!

I love the way this one turned out and all the bright colors!

Here are the card cuts, instructions and a link to a video I did show how to put it all together. (Note: it is the second card on the video)

If you'd like to keep up with my cards and some Stampin Up® news sign up for my newsletter!
