Crane of Fortune "Lifetime of Happiness"

Thanks for stopping by today!  I don't know about you but it seems like every time I get an invitation for a wedding I don't have a wedding card on hand.  It's just not cards that I think to make very often.  So when I saw the Symbols of Fortune Suite it immediately made me think of weddings.

This card definitely has some layering and it looks harder than it is to put it all together.  You'll be surprised how easy it is once you get all the elements stamped and die cut.

Before I get to the card cuts and instructions I want to remind you to sign up for my newsletter so that you can be updated on my new designs and all the Stampin Up® news!

Card cuts: DSP = Designer Series Paper

Card Base - Basic Gray: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Layer 1 - Symbols of Fortune DSP - 4 x 5 1/5

Layer 2 - Soft Succulent - 4 x 3 3/4

Layer 3 - Basic Gray - 2 3/4 x 4 1/4

Layer 4 - Symbols of Fortune DSP - 2 5/8 x 4 1/8

Layer 5 - Basic White - (2) 4 x 5 1/4

Layer 6 - Basic White - 2 x 3 1/4 (Dragonflies)

Layer 7 - Gold Foil - 1 1/2 x 2 1/4

Layer 8 - Basic Gray - 1/4 x 3 5/8

Instructions:

1. Adhere Layer 1 to the card front.

2. Using the Good Fortunes Dies and Layer 2 - Cut out one of the Detailed Large flowers & two leaves.
*Cut the large flower in half and place one side on the card front about 1 3/8" from top edge of Layer 1 and flush to the right edge.

*Place the other piece directly across and flush to the left edge.

3. Adhere Layer 4 to Layer 3.  Then adhere both to the card front about 1/2" from the left edge of Layer 1 and 1/4" down from the top edge.

4. On one of the the Layer 5 pieces stamp the following:

*Crane in Smokey Slate Ink then color in with Wink of Stella

*Flower in Calypso Coral ink

*Three leaves in Soft Succulent ink stamping one off for a lighter look on one of the leaves.

5. On the Layer 6 piece stamp the following:

*Two Dragon flies images in Smokey Slate ink.

6. Using the Good Fortune Dies cut out all the images you just stamped on Layers 5 and 6.

*Also cut out 2 of the small flowers from Layer 7 the Gold Foil.

7. On Layer 8 mask off the part of the sentiment that you are not using then stamp onto this layer.  cover with White embossing powder and heat up with the heat tool.

*Cut a banner on each end.

8. On the other Layer 5 stamp the following:

*In the bottom right hand corner stamp the flower in Calypso Coral ink.

*Stamp the sentiment in Soft Succulent ink

*Stamp Dragonflies in Smokey Slate ink in the upper right corner.

9. Assemble:

*Using Stampin Dimensionals adhere the Flower and Crane. (Note: place dimensionals so that you will be able to add some of the leaves and gold flowers behind them and when you overlap the Crane onto the flower make sure to only use dimensionals on the part of the Crane that is not touching the flower.)

*Add Gold Foil flowers and Soft Succulent and stamped leaves behind the Flower and Crane as shown.

*Adhere the banner sentiment across both the Flower and Crane as shown.

*Pop up Dragon flies as shown. (Note: I only used three of them)

*Adhere the stamped Layer 5 onto the inside of the card.

All done!  See not so bad and you have a beautiful card ready for the next wedding you are invited to!

I'd love to hear from you so please leave me a comment below!
