Hues of Happiness Accordion Fun Fold

So glad you stopped by my blog today!  I got a great opportunity to be involved with an online retreat hosted by Bruno and Kylie Bertucci and Lisa Curcio and her Daughter Gina.  I learned how to do this fun fold and wanted to use the fun fold design to create my own card!

I love the way this one turned out and all the bright colors!

Here are the card cuts, instructions and a link to a video I did show how to put it all together. (Note: it is the second card on the video)

If you'd like to keep up with my cards and some Stampin Up® news sign up for my newsletter!

Blending with Waves of Inspiration by Stampin Up®

Welcome to my blog!  Most of you know I live in the desert so I love anything to do with Oceans. When this set came out I was instantly inspired to create so many of the things I have experienced when I have visited oceans over the year.

For this card I wanted to do some blending so I had to cut myself some masks using post it notes but since then Stampin Up® has created a masking product that I wish had when I did this card.  So it will be much easier for you.

Following you will find the card cuts, instructions, Video link and supply list.

Please don't forget to leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!

Card cuts: DSP = Designer Series Paper.
(Note: the DSP and Specialty Paper I used for this card has since retired but you can use any DSP that matches the colors used)
Card Base - Pacific Point - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
DSP - Waves of the Ocean - 4 x 5 1/4
Card Stock - Basic White: 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, 4 x 5 1/4, 2 x 3
Specialty Paper - Blue Foils: 3 x 5 1/2

Instructions:

1. Stamp the large wave stamp onto  3 1/2 x 4 3/4 Basic White piece in Pacific Point ink. Place it about 3/4" from bottom edge. (Note: I used the Stamparatus so I could get it placed straight and in line but you can do it without one)

2.  Next stamp the same image onto a large post it note or better yet the Masking paper from Stampin Up®.
*Using Paper snips cut out. (Note: make sure to cut out the center section)

*Place over the stamped image on the Basic White sheet.

3.  Now for the blending: Using a blending brushes do the following:

*Using Crumb Cake blend in below the wave. **Make as dark or as light as you like**

*Starting just above the lowest part of the wave blend in Daffodil Delight ink moving up about 1/4 of the way making sure to get some of the color in the wave center.

*Next using Pumpkin Pie ink start blending just where you left off with Daffodil Delight overlapping just a bit and move towards the top leaving a little room at the top.

*Now come in with Calypso Coral again start blending just where you left off with the Pumpkin Pie and blend all the way to the top.

(Note: You may want to add more color after you get this first initial blending on so just work with it until you get the look you like)

4.  Now you will want to cut masks to cover the everything but the wave.

*Now bring in some coastal cabana ink and blend into the wave.  ****Be very light handed as you do not want this to be to dark.****

5. Using the sand image from the Paradise Palms stamp set and crumb cake ink, stamp a couple of images onto the bottom of section that you blended with Crumb Cake.

*Next using the Crumb Cake blending marker (brush tip) tap against another marker to create dots onto the sandy section of this sheet. (This will be very subtle)

6. Next adhere an adhesive sheet to the back of the Blue Foil piece then using the Wave Dies cut out one of the detailed waves.

*Remove adhesive strip from back and adhere it to the stamped wave on your sheet.  Line it up on the left side first then lay down towards the right side it will hang over and you will have to snip off the extra on the right side.

7.  Now adhere the DSP to the card front.

8. Next adhere the sheet you've been working on, onto the DSP on the card front.

9. Now stamp the sentiment onto the card front in Pacific Point ink as shown.

*Also add a few birds as shown.

10. Using Soft Suede ink stamp the pelican onto the 2 x 3 Basic White  piece.

*Then using the Wave Dies cut out it out.

*Using Mini Dimensionals add to card front as shown.  (Note: you do not want to place any dimensionals where they will be touching the blue foil detailed wave.)

11. Add jewels as desired.

12. For the inside of the card, stamp the wave image in the lower right hand corner in Pacific Point ink and the sentiment in the center as shown.

13. Adhere to the inside of the card.

All done!  So much fun!  Let me know what you think and leave me a comment below!

Tulip Fields "A little countryside"

As most of you know I LOVE Tulips!  One of the things on my bucket list is to someday visit Holland so I can see all the beautiful Tulips!

So I wanted to create a card that made me imagine what it would be like to ride a bike in Holland around the Tulip Fields!

I saw this layout from another demonstrator and thought I had written her name down but can not find it now.  I did what we call "casing" and took the original design and changed it up a bit. I did teach this card in one of my in person card classes and it was a huge hit!

Below you will find the card cuts, instructions and supply list!

If you'd like to updated when I create new cards or keep up on the recent Stampin Up® news add your email to my newsletter list!

Card cuts- DSP = Designer Series Paper

Card Base- Evening Evergreen: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4

Card Stock- Basic White: (2) 4 x 5 1/4; 3/4 x 3; 2 x 2 1/4

-Soft Suede: 1/2 x 5 1/2; 1 3/4 x 2 1/4

-Evening Evergreen: 1 x 3 1/4

DSP - Flowering Fields - 1 3/4 x 5 1/4

Instructions:

1. Apply Adhesive sheets to the back of the Soft Suede pieces.

2. On the 2 x 2 1/2 Basic White piece stamp the windmill in Soft Suede ink.

3. Using the Windmill Fields Dies cut the Following:

* Fences from the 1/2 x 5 1/2 Soft Sued piece.

* Bicycle from the 1 3/4 x 2 1/4 Soft Suede piece. Set both aside.

* Windmill that you stamped in step 2.

4. Using the Stamparatus (or if you don't have one) line up the stamp image with the tulips on both ends about 1 3/4" from top edge (of one of the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White pieces) and centering then stamp in So Saffron Ink.

* Remove from the stamparatus then using the other tulip row image stamp the Calypso Coral image in the center making sure tip touches the previous stamped image (Note: mine does not go all the way up but when I redid the card I liked it better when the tips were touching.)

*Then stamp the Highland Heather images right next to the So Saffron image and last the Pool Party between the Highland Heather and Calypso Coral rows.

5. On the DSP stamp the tree and two small bushes (one on each side) in Evening Evergreen along the bottom edge. (Note: keep the large tree either to the left or right of center.

*Adhere this to the Basic White piece you just stamped keeping bottom edge of this piece flush with the stamped So Saffron tulip rows.

6. Adhere both to the card front.

7. Adhere the fence overlapping the DSP and Basic White stamped piece to cover any white edge showing.  Leave a gap in the middle.  (Note: I did the left side then I did the right side.)

8. Using Stampin Dimensionals adhere the windmill to the card front in the gap you left in the fence.

9. Adhere the bicycle to the bottom right corner flush with the bottom of the card base.

10. Stamp the sentiment onto the 3/4 x 3 Basic White piece keeping it towards the left side.

* Cut a banner in the end.

11. Adhere to the 1 x 3 1/4 Evening Evergreen flush with the left side, then cut a banner in the end of this piece as well.

12. Adhere both to the card front about 3/4" from bottom edge and flush with the left side.

13. Adhere the butterflies as desired.

14. On the other Basic White piece stamp the sentiment using the Special Moments Set.

15. Using the Tulip Fields Set stamp the border image along the bottom edge in Evening Evergreen.  Adhere to the inside of the card.
