Have a Hoot October Birthday card

This card came about because I needed a birthday card for and October birthday and I thought it would be fun to create one with a Halloween theme.  I combined the Have a Hoot stamp set with the Designer Series paper from the Magic in the Night suite all by Stampin UP®.  I think these owls are so cute and were perfect for wishing someone Happy Birthday!  The great thing about this set is it also has owls that go along with a Christmas theme so this is a stamp set that can be used for some fun Christmas cards as well.

I hope you will gain some inspiration from this card!  I love sharing the cards I create in hopes that they will bring joy to others!  Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think! I'd love to hear from you!

Ghoulish Goodies and Autumn Wheelbarrow Dies

I really enjoy doing fun fold cards and could not resist combining the Ghoulish Goodies Stamp set by Stampin UP® and the Autumn Wheelbarrow Dies by Stampin UP® to create this fun card!  I always try to find ways to combine stamp sets and dies that do not necessarily go together.  It's a great challenge to see if I can put them together in a way that creates a fun card!  As soon as I saw this stamp set I pictured the cat in the wheelbarrow and that's where the creation started. I hope you like the end product it was a blast to create.

Instructions:

Card Base: Cajun Craze:  4 ¼ x 11

                     scored at 2 ¾ and 5 ½.

                     Whisper White:  3 x 9 ¾

                      Scored at 2 ¾ and 5 ½

Cardstock/DSP:

Layer 1 – Basic Black – (1) 4 x 5 ¼ (2) 2 ½ x 4
Layer 2 – Magic In This Night DSP (153517) Blackberry Bliss with spider - (2) 2 ¼ x 3 ¾
                                               Layer 3 – Whisper White – 1 ½ x 2
Layer 4 – Basic Black – 2 x 5 ½
Layer 5 – Blackberry Bliss – 2 x 3 ½

On the WW card base that you scored using the Night of Navy Ink and a sponge dauber, sponge the 2 left panels (the 3 x 4 ¼ and 2 ¾ x 3) Note: I used a post it note to cover the last panel so I didn’t get any ink on it.

1.        Stamp the Limb with bats image using Black Memento ink onto the WW card base on the 3 x 4 ¼ panel in the upper left corner.  Stamp the sentiment in Black memento ink the upper right corner. I colored in my moon with Mango Melody!

2.        On the next panel stamp the Witch image on the bottom centering on panel.  Then stamp several of the spiders hanging down from the top edge.  Next stamp the sentiments “Boo” and EEK” a couple time each between the spiders and witch.

3.        On the last panel stamp the sentiment from the “A Wish for Everything” stamp set in Blackberry Bliss centering on panel.  Then stamp several pumpkins across the bottom edge in Cajun Craze.

4.        Layer 1 -  Adhere to the card front on each of the panel area’s on the Cajun Craze base.

5.        Layer 2 – Adhere to Layer 1 on the 2 small panels.

6.        Layer 3 – Stamp the Cat image in Black Memento ink.  Color in the eyes and collar with markers then fussy cut out.

7.        Layer 4 – Using the Autumn Wheelbarrow dies cut out the fence and the detailed wheel.   Adhere the fence to the WW card front long panel about ½” from bottom edge.

8.        Layer 5 – Cut out the wheelbarrow that has the embossing on it.  Adhere the Wheel that you cut out of the Basic Back piece. Glue the Cat image that you cut out onto the backside of the wheelbarrow.  Adhere as shown to the largest sponged panel using Stampin Dimensionals.

Last you will adhere the WW card base to the Cajun Craze card base.  Line up the right side of this panel about 3/8” from right edge of the Basic Black panel on the right. (I used tear and tape because this card will have movement) Then close the Cajun Craze card base and lay the WW panel down and mark where it will hit.  Place Tear and tape down then lay back down and secure it.

Hallows Night Magic "Happy Halloween"

This was such a fun card to make and the Magic In This Night Suite by Stampin Up® made it so easy to design and put together.  I taught this card in my Monthly card class for October and the ladies had so much fun making it.  They fell in love with the beautiful Metallic Mesh ribbon.  It really gives this card a pop!  One thing we talked about in the class was that for anyone in your friends or family circle that have birthdays in October, these halloween cards can easily become a beautiful birthday card that only a October birthday would truly appreciate.  I hope you will try making this card and let me know how it goes!

Here's a video link for this card plus you will find the written instructions below!
