Timeless Tulips and Sketches!

Ever have a time where the creativity is just not working? Try using a sketch to help you jump start your creative side.

One of the ways I come up with ideas for cards is by searching through sketches online and in pinterest.  They are a great way to get those creative ideas running.  Here is a card that I did after looking through several sketches.  I hope that this will encourage you to take a chance at using sketched when designing your cards.  Hope you like it!

Project Recipe:

  1. Using Thick Whisper White cut a card base and then stamp the tops of the smallest tulip on the top edge and the bottom of the smallest tulip along the bottom edge in Flirty Flamingo ink.
  2. Punch three circles using the 2" Circle punch from a piece of Whisper White. Then stamp 2 of the smaller open Tulips and one small tulip in Flirty Flamingo in onto each Circle. (total of three tulips on each circle)
  3. On a scrap of Whisper White stamp 2 large tulips in Flirty Flamingo ink and 4 leaves in Granny Apple Green ink then punch out with the Tulip Builder Punch. Then stamp the sentiment "Get Well Soon" in Granny Apple Green ink and fussy cut around the words.
  4. Adhere a 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 Bermuda Bay sheet to the card front centering top and bottom and right and left edges flush. You should be able to see the tops and bottom of the tulips that you stamped previously.
  5. Using the Scallop Border Punch (retired) punch out 2 borders 4 1/4 " long. Adhere to the back of a 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 sheet of Lilly Impressions Designer Series Paper. Then adhere both to the card front centering onto the Bermuda Bay piece.
  6. Adhere the 3 circles to the card front as shown. Then layer the punched out leaves and tulips (use Dimensionals to adhere the Tulips) keeping the Tulips close enough that you can adhere the sentiment as shown.
  7. Sponge edges of sentiment with Gorgeous Grape then adhere to the 2 tulips on the front of the card.
  8. Color in leaves and Popped up Tulips with Wink of Stella.
